Position Summary: The Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary & Audubon Center (TRSAC) in Oyster Bay, NY is the first Audubon Songbird Sanctuary in the U.S. established in 1923. The land was gifted by the Roosevelt family to honor President Theodore Roosevelt, who is buried next door a Youngs Memorial Cemetery. The TRSAC recently completed a $3 million renovation of the grounds, gardens, and center, opening the brand-new Wood Thrush Education and Visitor Center in May 2023. The TRSAC is 14 acres of wooded trails, including a large native demonstration garden. The center and grounds are open year-round, attracting nature enthusiasts from near and far. Being a part of the Audubon team means making a difference for birds and conservation. The Seasonal Center Engagement Assistant position is a part-time, seasonal position assisting with essential day-to-day center functions and visitor engagement. The Seasonal Center Engagement Assistant supports the TRSAC by ensuring all visitors and program participants are engaged, animal ambassadors are cared for, and the building is running smoothly. The Seasonal Center Engagement Assistant will be on-site and must provide their own transportation to and from the center. This role is on-site based out of our Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary & Audubon Center (TRSAC) in Oyster Bay, NY.
