New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking an Advanced Methane and Leak Survey Supervisor to plan, coordinate, and control all daily operating activities as they relate to maintaining our Advanced Methane Leak Detection (AMLD) and Leak survey.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Ensure proper and efficient scheduling, performance, and completion of AMLD activities and leak survey, organize and adjust the daily workflow.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, works with divisions to planning and assistance for all leak survey activities.
  • Ensure leak surveys are conducted in the proper manner with trained personnel, and as scheduled to meet compliance.
  • Ensure all leak survey documentation is reviewed, accurate, current, and compliant with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Make necessary recommendations for pipe replacement based off leak survey data.
  • Ensure that the division field personnel are provided with all necessary tools, materials, supplies, and equipment, and that the tools and equipment are properly maintained.
  • Schedule and direct the deployment of survey personnel to cover the needs of the territory.
  • Ensure the prompt and effective handling of appropriate emergency work requests, which involve possible danger to life and property.
  • Maintain O&M and capital expenditure within or below approved budget.
  • Work with team members to develop ways of performing work better, faster, and more efficiently for continuous improvement.
  • Calculate costs of doing business and cost out alternatives for services provided.
  • Commit to coaching team members and providing feedback in developing technical skills and maintaining safe practices on the job.
  • Assist Manager of AMLD & Leak survey in all aspects of day-to-day operations.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of utility or related experience is required.
  • 2 years of experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
  • Ability to pass supervisor operator qualifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and coach field teams, fostering accountability, engagement, and a strong safety culture.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey expectations, priorities, and compliance requirements to field staff and cross-functional partners.
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment

This position is deemed safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s (PHMSA) regulations. Among other things, employees in this position are subject to drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing and post-accident testing. PHMSA-required drug tests include testing for marijuana. The use of marijuana, or testing positive for marijuana, is disqualifying and will lead to removal from performing safety-sensitive functions as well as disciplinary action.

Other Details:

Compensation: Expected base pay range for this role will be $76,400- $97,300.
Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge.

This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short term incentive program.
