The GIS Sr. Business Application Developer will be responsible for development and technical support of NJR’s GIS Integration with Maximo and Clevest. This includes supporting and developing current and future state architectures, solutions design, providing guidance, and sharing best practices to the technical and functional teams while working closely with business partners. Must have a solid understanding of GIS, business operations, IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies along with.

Major Responsibilities
• Provide expert-level support for GIS applications, ensuring system availability and performance.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address production-related problems.
• Assist the Business with Esri ArcGIS system upgrades to newer versions.
• Provide unit and system integration testing.
• Performs code reviews with application/data architects prior to production deployments.
• Addresses IT security issues within GIS source code and assists with required security updates.
• Submits, updates, and completes ServiceNow tickets to record work tasks, schedule planned outages, request approval to deploy bug fixes/change requests.
• Provide production support to troubleshoot day-to-day incidents and resolve application, interface, workflow, reporting, data integrity and any application issues.
• Creating and maintaining technical WAM/GIS integration documentation, including system design, architecture, user guides, and troubleshooting guides.
• Continuously improve technical and professional skills through active mentoring and training.
• Build and maintain strong relations within Business and IT Leaders, stakeholders across various business units.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Geographic Information Systems or Computer Science, or relevant work experience is required
• At least 6 years of experience implementing, configuring, and using Esri applications
• Proficiency in GIS software such as ESRI ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, or other industry-standard GIS tools
• Strong programming skills in languages like Python, JavaScript, or Java
• Develop and deploy geospatial web services including, views, feature services, and map services with ArcServer, ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online
• Provide technical expertise on how geospatial systems can be integrated into existing data collection and monitoring systems
• Experience with testing and deploying applications and systems
• Experience with spatial databases (e.g., SQL, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experienced working in an organized, structured manner with team communication, facilitation and consensus-building skills
• Knowledge, understanding and utilization of the standard ESRI methodology of geodatabase design and system architecture
• Knowledge and understanding of how to resolve version conflicts, resolve spatial (topology) and attributes errors that arise during versioning and exporting of updated (edited) data in ArcSDE
• Ability to do GIS application development, using desktop and web-based tools (preferably ESRI ArcGIS Server and ArcObjects)
• Experienced in providing guidance and best practices in standing up and configuring IBM Maximo EAM cloud systems

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• GIS and data transformations with computer programming knowledge is strongly preferred
• Strong computer skills, strong communication skills and written skills required and the proven ability to act in a leadership role and coordinate multiple disciplines through project initiation and execution
• Knowledge of geospatial data modeling and analysis
• Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile / Scrum, Waterfall
