Apply: https://www.lsijax.com/careers/ General Summary The Quality Assurance Specialist I is responsible for ensuring all hardware training devices produced by LSI meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance. Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with the appropriate technical drawings and specifications. Essential Job Functions • Interprets and implements quality assurance standards. • Enforces quality assurance policies and procedures and government requirements to maintain product quality. • Reads and interprets technical drawings, publications, technical manuals, performance specifications, and statements of work and ensures that work produced meets the requirements outlined within these drawings and documents. • Conducts and monitors testing and inspection of materials and products produced to ensure they meet finished product quality standards outlined in the accompanying technical data. • Maintains familiarity with the standards required for the LSI First Article process. • Follows sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting of quality data and develops trend analysis of the data collected. • Collaborates with all levels of management and other technical team members to develop new product, engineering designs and manufacturing methods. • Aids in the documenting of management systems, Manufacturing Order generation, and control. • Identifies areas for improvement in the quality system. • Assists in the interpretation of the ISO 9001 and help in the development of processes and procedures to meet the ISO standard in the Production and Manufacturing environment. • Performs departmental audits of manufacturing and production areas for ISO compliance in support of internal and external ISO 9001 audits. • Recommends and implements Corrective Action Procedures (CARs) for all quality and safety issues identified. • Identifies training needs and organizes training interventions to meet quality standards. • Provides instructions, assistance, and training to lower-level employees. • Works a standard weekly schedule of 40 hours with overtime as required. • Performs other duties as required. Job Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Must have a working knowledge of aviation maintenance technical requirements. • Must possess some knowledge in the use of precision measuring equipment. • Must have working knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) tools, concepts, and methodologies. • Must be able to provide effective attention to detail. • Must possess some decision-making skills. • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills. • Must be good at problem analysis and problem solving. • Must be customer service oriented. • Must be able to communicate, collaborate, and work effectively with all levels of management and technical team members. • Effective in the use of Microsoft Office Products. • Must be able to obtain a security clearance when required by the contract. Education and Experience • Associate degree in a related field, or equivalent. • Three (3) years of experience working in a Manufacturing/Production type environment or related aviation experience. • Quality Assurance experience with aircraft electrical, structural, or mechanical systems highly preferred. • Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics. • Familiarization with ISO 9001 preferred.
