Clean Energy Ventures, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking a Solar Project Manager to lead and provide oversight of planning management and construction of solar energy and electric vehicle charging projects to help execute the Clean Energy Ventures (CEV) project plan.

Major Responsibilities:
• Manage the planning and construction of solar and electric vehicle charging projects to ensure projects are completed as designed, budgeted and scheduled
• Be familiar with site, civil and electrical aspects of large-scale construction projects
• Manage design consultants, construction contractors, and utility entities
• Resolve design and field issues
• Manage and coordinate external project partners that act as Owner's Representatives in various capacities
• Direct other CEV department staff, including Engineering and Operations & Maintenance, to provide project support in various stages of a project's life cycle
• Review real estate and regulatory documents for completeness
• Coordinate the work of external consultants that assist CEV on projects
• Manage and conduct the RFP process for engineers and contractors
• Conduct site visits of prospective projects to consider viability of construction
• Observe various pre-construction and post-construction conditions and site testing to adhere to procedural guidelines
• Review contracts during the negotiation phase to ensure constructability of the project, acceptable project milestone schedules, effective contractor losses and damages
• Ensure projects are built according to CEV requirements; conduct inspections, which requires the interpretation and implementation of contract drawings and specifications
• Note any deficiencies and direct the contractor to effect remediation and insure completion
• Review and verify contractual payments for various renewable energy projects based upon milestone requirements being satisfied; apply losses and damages when project milestone schedule dates are not met
• Manage the review of site, civil and electrical construction plans; provide necessary insight
• Effectively represent the company and maintain relationships with Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) contractors, owner's representatives, and property owners through, inspections, system overviews and technical support meetings
• Oversee the startup, commissioning and testing for new energy and electric vehicle charging projects
• Manage permitting and interconnection process
• Provide support during development of solar energy and electric vehicle charging projects
• Provide insight into the asset management process to determine deficiencies in asset performance
• Develop the preparation of various reports and presentations for senior NJR management
• Maintain current knowledge of recent technical developments and industry standards in renewable energy
• Manage multiple projects in various, different phases
• Develop, manage and report budgets and cost reports
• Manage regulatory and township permitting processes

Position Specifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering plus a minimum of 8 years of experience in Project Management or related field, or the combined equivalent of education and experience
• Previous solar design or construction experience
• Ability to manage large-scale construction projects
• Mentor and train fellow employees of lesser experience
• License as a Professional Engineer or Project Management Professional Certification is desired
• Travel required 50-75%
